Yes, in the sense I know it exists! I&#039;ve not used it myself, and I try to stick to blogging about what I know.  Perhaps I&#039;ll give it a spin and see how I get on.

		<description>A trick I&#039;ve recently learned with Makefiles (I&#039;m only just getting into them, like you) is that lines starting with @ will be suppressed in the output. So &lt;code&gt;@echo &quot;Unpacking files&quot;&lt;/code&gt; will only appear once when running the script.

Alternatively, you can suppress all lines of output by adding the fake target &lt;code&gt;.SILENT:&lt;/code&gt;, but you have to be confident your code words, first :)</description>
